The Columbus Jr. B Blue Jackets scored first but couldn't hold on as the Toledo Cherokee sweep the weekend series with a 6-3 win. Tim Hurst scored first for Columbus late in the period giving them the lead. Ryan Sell would score with under a minute to go in the period finally beating Sean Plarski after peppering him with 18 shots in the period. Gabe West would give Columbus their second lead of the game at the 4:00 minute mark of the second period. Toledo, however, would respond with the next 5 goals in the period as Korey Abbeglen and Ryan Sexsmith would score two each and Tom Higgins found the net once. Columbus scored once in the third to close the gap but could get no closer. Anthony Petrak would stop 26 of 23 shots to get the win while Plarski and Drew Stanton would combine to stop 45 of 51 shots in the loss.
The Toledo Cherokee built a 3 goal lead en route to a 5-3 win over the Columbus Jr. B Blue Jackets. Ross Lane scored the lone goal in the first period on the power play giving Toledo the lead at the break. The Toledo veterans then took over as Tom Higgins scored his first of the year less than a minute into the second period and Bart Reeves followed up a few minutes later. The teams would then exchange goals the rest of the way as Lee McClure scored on the power play for Columbus. Tyler Pilmore would put Toledo up by 3 again late in the period. Jeremy Narducci would again close the gap to two scoring early in the third but Korey Abbeglen scored just :20 seconds later. Columbus would add one more late as Carl Nielsen scored to finish the game. J.R. Engelbert stopped 32 of 35 to get the win while Drew Stanton would stop 35 of 40 taking the loss.
